Notable Projects
SoCalGas and SDG&E Rate Case
RWA just completed its analysis of SoCalGas and SDG&E's 2023 rate case. As the largest utility in the country, the utilities proposals covered billions of dollars of capital and O&M investment. On the behalf of a ratepayer advocate client, RWA evaluated the gas engineering, gas distribution, gas transmission, and integrity management proposals of the companies for reasonableness and cost prudence. RWA filed 100+ pages of testimony supporting its positions.
Illinois AGO Rate Cases
In 2023, Peoples Gas, Ameren Illinois, and Nicor Gas all simultaneously filed rate cases in Illinois. As the Chicago-area's largest utilities, the review of all three petitions simultaneously was a large project. The Illinois Attorney General's Office retained RWA to perform an analysis of the rate case filings to review the billions of dollars of capital investments and nuanced interactions with recent changes in IL infrastructure program regulations.
