Notable Projects
Oak Ridge Utility District
RWA was selected by the Oak Ridge Utility District (ORUD) - home of Oak Ridge Laboratory - to assist in developing a Strategic Plan for ORUD. The project consisted of a facilitated workshop with ORUD staff to review and identify key existing issues within the major operational areas of the Organization through an Organizational Assessment/Review and a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis as well as discussions on future issues facing the Organization in the next 35 years or the 5-10 year horizon.
These discussions resulted in the start of the process to develop a Strategic Plan Document with accompanying Roadmap for ORUD for the future that is not only strategic but tactical to identify tasks “to do”, time-frames, high level costs and ownership to ensure the Strategic Plan was successful to meet ORUD’s goals and objectives yet continue to operate as a utility providing safe, economical and efficient delivery of natural gas to its customers.
Jackson Energy Authority
In 2022, RWA was hired by Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) to evaluate its Gas Master Plan and develop a new, 20-year plan for the coming decades. RWA took a strategic approach and evaluated future demand, system needs and carefully selected capital projects and programs in conjunction with JEA staff engineers to populate the new Master plan going forward.
To support its findings and revised Master Plan, RWA - in conjunction with DNV - performed system hydraulic modeling under design day conditions to verify that the proposed capital improvements were sufficient to meet forecast demand.
